The theme aligns with NCWS’s mission to highlight the importance of inclusive policies and the dignity of every individual.
In her statement, Mrs. Geraldine Etuk, Acting President of NCWS, emphasized the necessity of comprehensive data collection for effective policy-making. She called on stakeholders to invest in robust data systems to ensure everyone is counted, which is essential for tracking progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
NCWS also highlighted the critical need for universal access to healthcare and education, advocating for increased investment in these areas. They underscored the importance of empowering women and girls, stressing that gender equality is fundamental for a sustainable and prosperous world.
Attention was also drawn to vulnerable populations, such as internally displaced person and those in conflict-affected areas. NCWS called for coordinated and compassionate responses to meet their complex needs. Furthermore, the council discussed the intersection of climate change and population dynamics, urging the integration of sustainable resource use and disaster preparedness into climate strategies.

Mrs. Etuk called on governments, civil society, and international organizations to join NCWS in their commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind, advocating for a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future for all.
