NNPP Elects Liman as Flagbearer for J/Y/Z HOR Polls in Taraba

In a decisive move, the Taraba State chapter of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has chosen Hon. Aminu Abdu Liman to carry the party’s banner in the forthcoming House of Representatives Election for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing (J/Y/Z) Federal Constituency on February 3rd.

The announcement came after a robust election held at the Banquet Hall of the Taraba Motel Jalingo, overseen by Barrister Rambi Ibrahim Ayala, the Returning Officer and Chairman of the NNPP by-election Committee. Ayala disclosed that 93 eligible delegates were accredited for the event, with 93 ballot papers provided by the NNPP National Headquarters.

In a clear victory, Hon. Aminu Abdu Liman secured 68 votes, defeating his sole opponent, Hon. Suleiman Bakari, who garnered 25 votes. Ayala declared the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and credible, urging Bakari and his supporters to rally behind Liman for success in the general election.

Chairman of NNPP in the State, Hon. Abdullahi Ade, praised the primary election’s credibility and called on party members to embrace unity. He welcomed dissenting members and those from other political parties, emphasizing optimism for victory with Hon. Liman as the candidate.

Hon. Aminu Abdu Liman expressed joy at the peaceful conduct of the primary election and thanked the NNPP National and State Working Committees, as well as delegates from Jalingo, Yorro, and Zing for their confidence. Liman pledged to contribute significantly to the development of his Federal Constituency and address security concerns.

Despite his loss, Hon. Suleiman Bakari commended the well-organized and properly conducted exercise. He vowed to work tirelessly to ensure NNPP’s success in the upcoming February 3rd bye-election for the Three Federal Constituencies conducted by INEC.
