Tinubu Announces Sweeping Leadership Changes in Key Government Agencies
In a significant development, President Bola Tinubu has on Thursday  appointed eight new Chief Executive Officers to head various Parastatals and Agencies operating under the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
The affected agencies and organizations include the National Orientation Agency (NOA), the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Voice of Nigeria (VON), Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), and the Nigerian Press Council.
This move follows a closed-door meeting held between President Tinubu and the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, at the State House in Abuja just 24 hours prior.
According to a statement by Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu has appointed the following individuals to lead these institutions:
Mr. Lanre Issa-Onilu as the new Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA).
Mr. Salihu Dembos retains his position as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
Dr. Muhammed Bulama assumes the role of Director-General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), replacing Dr. Mansir Liman.
Mr. Charles Ebuebu takes over as the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), succeeding Balarabe Illelah.
Mr. Jibrin Ndace is appointed as the new Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), replacing Osita Okechukwu.
Dr. Lekan Fadolapo is the newly appointed Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
Mr. Ali Ali is named Director-General of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Mr. Dili Ezughah assumes the role of Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Press Council.
Tinubu has challenged the newly appointed leaders of these sectors to “innovate and create new opportunities for Nigerians to leverage upon through the effective reform of these key institutions of government, which function to unify Nigerians, reshape mindsets, and showcase the nation to the rest of the world.”
