President Tinubu Appoints Presidential Media Advisory Team

President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of new members to the Presidential Media Advisory Team, reinforcing his commitment to effective communication and public engagement.

These appointments align with Nigeria’s federal character principle and prioritize meritocracy.

In a press statement issued by Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President indicates the following individuals appointed to serve in the Office of the President under the Media & Publicity Directorate:

1. Mr. Fela Durotoye: As Senior Special Assistant to the President for National Values & Social Justice, Mr. Durotoye will play a pivotal role in advancing principles of justice and social cohesion.

2. Mr. Fredrick Nwabufo: Appointed as Senior Special Assistant to the President for Public Engagement, Mr. Nwabufo will lead efforts to foster productive interactions between the government and the public.

3. Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe: Mrs. Akhigbe takes on the role of Senior Special Assistant to the President for Strategic Communications, where she will be responsible for crafting and delivering effective government messages.

4. Mr. Aliyu Audu: Mr. Audu has been named as Special Assistant to the President for Public Affairs, tasked with managing public relations and communication on behalf of the presidency.

5. Mr. Francis Adah Abah: Mr. Abah assumes the position of Personal Assistant to the President for Special Duties, supporting various responsibilities crucial to the President’s functions.

In addition to these appointments, President Tinubu has approved the secondment of Mrs. Linda Nwabuwa Akhigbe to serve as the Communications Adviser to the President of the ECOWAS Commission, further underscoring Nigeria’s commitment to regional cooperation.

The statement adds that the president charged all newly appointed team members within the Media & Publicity directorate to uphold the highest standards of decorum and respect in their interactions with the public.
