Killer Cop Drambi Vandi Sentenced to Death by hanging

Court Sentences Killer Cop To Death for  Killing Lagos Lawyer

The  Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Drambi Vandi has been found guilty and sentenced to death by hanging for the murder of Lagos-based lawyer, Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem.
This verdict was handed down by Justice Ibironke Harrison on Monday at the Lagos State High Court at Tafawa Balewa Square( TBS)
Justice Harrison’s decision came after a thorough examination of the evidence presented by the prosecution, which, in her view, left no reasonable doubt as to Vandi’s culpability.
The Judge’s judgment, delivered over the course of a two-hour session, emphasized that Vandi was the sole individual with the opportunity to commit the crime, even though no eyewitnesses saw him discharge the fatal shot.
Furthermore, the court found the testimonies of the 11 witnesses who testified for the prosecution to be both credible and convincing, providing sufficient grounds for the conviction of the suspended police officer.

In delivering the sentence, Justice Harrison pronounced, “You are to be hung by the neck until you are dead. May God have mercy on your soul.”
The case against Vandi stemmed from the tragic incident that occurred on December 25, 2022, when he allegedly shot and killed the 41-year-old pregnant lawyer at the Ajah underbridge checkpoint.
The Lagos State government had brought charges against Vandi, leading to this decisive legal outcome.
