Tragedy Strikes as Dunamis Church in Benue Collapses, Claiming Pastor’s Life
In a devastating turn of events, a Dunamis Church located in Mission Ward North Bank, Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, has crumbled, leading to the loss of a pastor’s life.
This calamity struck in the early hours of Tuesday, as reported by Eventville. Four individuals, including the unfortunate pastor, were engaged in prayer within the church’s premises when the catastrophic incident unfolded.

Miraculously, the other three individuals managed to escape the wreckage, though not unscathed. The repercussions of the church’s collapse extended beyond its walls, affecting nearby residential buildings and electrical infrastructure. The precise cause of this tragic incident remains shrouded in mystery.
Bartholomew Onyeka, the Commissioner of Police in Benue State, confirmed the incident to journalists on Tuesday, saying, “Something like that happened, just one person died in the process. You know when debris falls on people like that, the immediate reaction is what happens to the victims. So, people who rushed there were able to rescue four people; unfortunately, one person died.
The injured persons are responding to treatment in a hospital where they were taken to.”
