Jimmy Odukoya succeeds Father, Takes Over as General Overseer of Fountain of Life Church
In a significant ecclesiastical development, Jimmy Odukoya, the eldest son of the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, who founded the Fountain of Life Church, has assumed the mantle of leadership as the new general overseer of the denomination.
The declaration was made during a Sunday service by Rotimi Okpaise. Mr. Okpaise revealed that Mr. Jimmy, renowned for his roles in Nollywood as an actor and musician, had been unanimously chosen by the board of trustees (BoT) to carry forward the spiritual legacy of his father.
Notably, Mr. Okpaise also highlighted that Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, who passed away at the age of 67 in the United States this August, had communicated his succession plan to the BoT members prior to his demise.
“The board has designated Saturday, September 30, 2023, as the official date for Jimmy’s installation,” Mr. Okpaise solemnly informed the congregation. This auspicious occasion will mark the transition of Mr. Jimmy into his new roles as the senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church and as the chairperson of the board.
Beyond his spiritual leadership, Mr. Jimmy Odukoya is celebrated for his contributions to the entertainment industry. He gained prominence for his starring role as ‘Oba Ade’ in the critically acclaimed Netflix movie ‘Woman King,’ and has also left his mark in other cinematic endeavors, including ‘Lifting the Veil,’ ‘I am Nazzy,’ and ‘Oga Pastor,’ among others.
This transition signifies not only a change in leadership within the Fountain of Life Church but also marks a new chapter in the life of Jimmy Odukoya, who will now carry the torch of his father’s ministry into the future.
