Democracy Requires Security: OBASANJO

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo  have strongly advocated for the abandonment of any democratic system that fails to ensure security and peace within a nation.
The former president, who was a guest of honor at the event hosted by the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, took the opportunity during the opening of internal roads in Iseyin to emphasize the critical importance of a functional democracy.

Obasanjo minced no words as he described a democracy plagued by high levels of unemployment as nothing short of a failure.
He asserted, “Democracy that nurtures a lack of peace and security must be thrown overboard. Democracy dividends must involve peace, security, stability, prosperity, wealth creation, employment, and the wholesomeness of the society.”
Obasanjo further  expressed his deep satisfaction at being chosen by Governor Makinde to be part of the ongoing success story in Oyo State.
