TETFUND to Enhance Taraba Educational Infrastructure.

Taraba State Governor Urges TETFUND to Enhance Skill Training and Educational Infrastructure

In a bid to bolster skill development and educational infrastructure in Taraba State, the state governor Agbu Kefas, has appealed to the Management of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) to establish additional entrepreneurship centers within the state.

The Governor’s plea was expressed during a courtesy visit to the TETFUND headquarters in Abuja.

Governor Kefas put forth various requests to the Executive Secretary of TETFUND, including the establishment of E-libraries and Computer-Based Test Centers. These facilities would play a pivotal role in accommodating students taking crucial examinations like the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) test. Emphasizing the importance of collaboration with TETFUND, the Governor underscored the necessity of high-quality education for the state’s residents.

Governor Kefas further highlighted his personal commitment to overseeing any projects that TETFUND undertakes within Taraba State. He also briefed him on the implementation of his free education policy and the reduction of higher institution school fees.

Addressing the issue of insecurity, Governor Kefas attributed lack of education as a driving factor. He articulated that by ensuring widespread access to education, the propensity for engaging in harmful activities would be significantly diminished.

In response, the TETFUND Executive Secretary, Arc Sonny Echono affirmed that the Governor’s requests would be treated with utmost priority. Echono revealed that TETFUND has already been involved in various projects within educational institutions across the state, encompassing both infrastructure development and staff training. He assured the Governor of TETFUND’s intention to collaborate closely with Taraba State as a key partner.

The Governor’s proactive engagement with TETFUND signifies a concerted effort to advance educational opportunities and skill acquisition in Taraba State, potentially contributing to both individual empowerment and the overall development of the region.
