CAC INITIATES STRIKING OFF

Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria has taken action to strike off non-compliant companies from its register, following the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020.

The CAC released an official public notice on July 31, warning companies that have failed to comply with the Act’s requirements that they risk being struck off from the register.

The list of affected companies has been published on the CAC’s website for public reference. Companies are urged to promptly file their annual returns within 90 days of the publication to avoid removal from the register.

Being struck off means affected companies cannot legally conduct business until they are formally restored by an order from the Federal High Court.

The CAC emphasizes the importance of adhering to statutory obligations and maintaining up-to-date records.

For more information and resources, individuals and companies can visit the CAC’s website at www.cac.gov.ng, demonstrating the Commission’s commitment to corporate compliance and transparency in Nigeria’s business landscape.
