CONCERNED LABOUR PARTY STAKEHOLDERS UNYIELDING IN EFFORTS TO RECLAIM STOLEN MANDATE THROUGH LEGAL CHANNELS

Labour Party’s Victory in Presidential Election Supported by Forum Amid INEC Controversy

The Concerned Labour Party Stakeholders Forum, comprising a diverse group of intellectuals, workers, and professionals from various sectors across Nigeria, remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the Labour Party’s pursuit of becoming a prominent national political organization. In a press release issued on 21st July, the Forum asserts its unwavering support for the party’s Presidential Candidate, H.E. Peter Gregory Obi, and his Vice, Dr. Datti Baba Ahmed, and vows to reclaim what it believes to be a mandate stolen in the 2023 Presidential Election.

Accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of undermining the will of the Nigerian people, the Forum firmly maintains that the Labour Party emerged victorious in the Presidential Election held on February 25th, 2023, despite allegations of INEC’s involvement in fraudulent activities.

“We will not concede to this fraudulent act by INEC and have resolved to support and collaborate with the Labour Party, its Presidential Candidate H.E. Peter Gregory Obi, and his Vice, Dr. Datti Baba Ahmed to reclaim this mandate through legal means,” stated Engr. Balarabe Gambo, the National Coordinator of the Forum.

The press release highlights the importance of upholding democracy and protecting the integrity of the electoral process. The Forum urges the judiciary to remain impartial and ensure a fair resolution of the election dispute. It pledges full cooperation in providing critical evidence and witnesses to bolster the case for the Labour Party’s alleged victory.

Expressing concerns over the legitimacy of the sworn-in “President-Elect,” the Forum calls for the immediate removal of the INEC Chairman and his associates to restore public confidence in the electoral process.

The Forum also reaffirms its support for the duly elected and constitutionally established executive council led by Julius Abure. It salutes the courage and resilience of the current 36 State Chairmen of the Labour Party, affirming their elected positions and dedication to upholding the party’s integrity.

In conclusion, the Concerned Labour Party Stakeholders Forum reiterates its commitment to democratic governance and pledges to work towards the growth and development of the party. It calls upon all Nigerians, including affiliates like the NLC, TUC, Nigerian Students, and nationalists, to unite and create a purpose-driven, inclusive, and progressive political movement.

As the legal battle unfolds and the pursuit of justice continues, Nigerians await the outcome of the 2023 Presidential Election with anticipation, while the Forum remains resolute in its determination to reclaim what it perceives as the rightful mandate for a rejuvenated Nigeria.
