TARABA GOVERNOR BANS SCHOOL FEES FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has emphasized his determination to lead an administration that includes everyone for the advancement and growth of the State.
Governor Kefas made these remarks in Donga, the headquarters of Donga Local Government Area, after inspecting the ongoing construction of Donga Skills Acquisition Centre and 6 Classroom Blocks situated in Donga town.
The Skills Acquisition Centre, funded by the Federal Government through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was visited by Governor Kefas during its construction.
In addition to promising to construct the road leading to the Skills Acquisition Centre, the Governor also assured impoverished farmers in the Local Government of free fertilizer to support their farming activities.
Despite acknowledging that the people of Donga did not support or vote for him in the 2023 governorship election that brought him to power, Governor Kefas affirmed that his government is inclusive.
As an all-inclusive government committed to meeting the needs of all Taraba citizens regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation, Kefas announced the elimination of school fees for secondary schools in the State starting from the next academic session.
During his visit to Wukari, his hometown, Governor Agbu Kefas inspected several schools and declared free education for all government secondary schools in the State. Part of the schools he inspected are Ebenezer Primary School and Government Secondary School (GSS), Wukari. He also pledged to renovate dilapidated schools to create a conducive learning environment.
Upon assuming office, Governor Kefas declared a state of emergency in the education sector and took immediate action by reducing the fees of the State College of Nursing and Midwifery in Jalingo and the State-owned University by 50%.
It is worth noting that Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, the immediate past Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the State in the 2023 general elections, is from Marrarraba in Donga LGA of the State.
