State Security: KEFAS CALLS ON TARABA MONARCHS TO ENHANCE SECURITY MEASURES

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has applauded the traditional rulers of the 16 Local Government Areas of the State for their commendable efforts in fostering peace within their respective domains.

Governor Kefas conveyed this sentiment while addressing attendees at the concluding ceremony of a ‘3-Day’ Taraba Youth, Economic, and Security Summit which took place at the gymnastics hall of Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo.

Governor Kefas, who was represented the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Aminu Alkali appreciated the diligent efforts of the Traditional Rulers in upholding peace and order within their respective domains. He emphasized the importance of their ongoing commitment and encouraged them to further strengthen their endeavours.

He stated, “I commend the efforts of all our Traditional Rulers in ensuring that their Subjects coexist peacefully with one another,” while also acknowledging the importance of the summit to those in attendance by stating, “Those of you who have made it with us here despite your tight schedules, it is because you consider this Summit very important.”

The Governor, while urging the Royal Fathers to intensify their efforts and collaborate with local Security Agencies, emphasized that security is a collective responsibility, not solely dependent on one individual.

“I urge you to liaise with the Security Agencies in your domain towards making sure that lives and property of your Subjects are always secured”, he emphasized.

Kefas also advised the Summit Committee to compile and promptly submit all recommendations made during the three-day program for immediate attention in his office.

In his statement, Manu Ishaku Ada Ali, the Chairman of the Taraba State Council of Chiefs and Aku Uka of Wukari, stressed the importance of political will in consistently addressing security concerns.

He applauded the current administration’s decision to organize the Youth, Economic, and Security Summit, noting that it would not only empower the youth but also enhance the state’s economy and promote peace.

Adding to the discussion, Alh. Abbas Njida Tafida, the Emir of Muri, emphasized the need for the government to equip security personnel with modern security gadgets to effectively tackle security challenges. Furthermore, he advised the youth to refrain from engaging in harmful activities that hinder the progress of the state.

According to information gathered by Eventville Magazine, the Summit centered around the theme, “Harvesting the potentials in our Youths, repositioning Taraba from potentials to prosperity and securing our people.”

The magazine further reported that representatives from different Security Agencies in the State actively participated in the Summit, providing valuable insights on effectively addressing the prevailing security challenges and other issues faced by the State.
