Commander of 6 Brigade Visits Remote Communities in Taraba State, Assures Safety

In a firm demonstration of commitment to the security of lives and properties in Taraba State, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade and Sector 3 Operation WHIRL STROKE, recently toured several remote towns in the Lau and Karim-Lamido LGAs. 

The visit aimed to reassure residents of the military’s dedication to their safety and to reinforce the partnership between the Nigerian Army and local communities to eradicate criminal elements.

During his visit, Brigadier General Uwa held meetings with local leaders, community members, and key stakeholders to address security concerns and discuss collaborative efforts for maintaining peace and stability in the region.

This visit followed the tragic murder of the Chief of Gidan Usmanu Village, Alhaji Auwal Wali, by suspected bandits. Brigadier General Uwa emphasized the importance of community support in the brigade’s operations.

“We are here to express our condolences to the people of Gidan Usmanu and to reaffirm our commitment to the safety and well-being of the people of Taraba State,” stated the Commander. “Your support is invaluable to our mission, and we will continue to work together to ensure a secure environment for all residents.” He urged the community to report any suspicious activities promptly.

The Chairman of Karim-Lamido Local Government, Hon. Britus Dan-Jos, and the Chief of Wurkun District expressed their gratitude for the military’s support and commended the strong relationship between the military and the local communities. “We appreciate your dedication and look forward to continued collaboration,” they remarked.

Additionally, the Commander paid a condolence visit to the residence of the Chief of Gidan Usmanu, where he expressed sympathy to the bereaved families and assured them of the 6 Brigade’s commitment, in collaboration with other security agencies, to apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous act.
