Abia State Unearths Headless Bodies at Lokpanta Cattle Market

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has disclosed a grim and macabre discovery in the Lokpanta Cattle Market in Umunneochi Local Government Area of the State.

This was aforementioned during his monthly media chat, “Governor Alex Otti Speaks to Abians,” Over 50 decomposed dead bodies, more than 20 headless bodies, and numerous human skeletons were found littered in and around the market.

Governor Otti, resolute in addressing the region’s security concerns, assured the public that his administration is unwavering in its commitment to combat insecurity, irrespective of opposition. He cited issues such as prostitution, narcotics trade, and criminal activities around the market, which prompted the raid, leading to the closure of some brothels and the restoration of calm in Umunneochi.

Governor Otti further announced his plans to transform the Lokpanta market into a daily operation, with opening hours from 6am to 6pm. He outlined that sections will be allocated to cattle dealers and other businesses, and the market will be fenced to enhance security.

Notorious for kidnapping and armed robbery, the Lokpanta area’s transformation into a daily market is part of the government’s strategy to curb insecurity. Governor Otti emphasized that this policy, initially misunderstood, garnered support after discussions with the market’s leadership, as it benefits all residents.

To achieve this, security gadgets will be strategically deployed to safeguard lives and property. He expressed the administration’s determination to provide Abians with a safe and joyous Christmas, firmly stating, “This government will not get involved in supporting insecurity. Our devices will be installed in strategic places.”

In response to inquiries from the media, Governor Otti revealed that his administration was pursuing a different, discreet approach to secure the release of the imprisoned leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. This approach is intended to produce results rather than media spectacle, and the public will be informed once the desired outcome is achieved.
