Zamfara Gov. Lawal rejects peace talks with Terrorists.

In Defiance of Calls for Peace, Governor Lawal Vows to Continue Tough Stance Against Terrorists
Zamfara State, Nigeria
In a resolute declaration, Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has reaffirmed his commitment to pursuing a relentless battle against terrorists, adamantly dismissing any notions of a peace accord or reconciliation with these criminal elements.
Lawal, known for his stance, labeled those advocating for such initiatives as mere “daydreamers.”
The governor’s stern response came in the wake of a compelling sermon delivered by scholar Sheikh Ahmed Umar Kanoma, who beseeched the state government to contemplate a peace accord and reconciliation process as a means to restore order in the strife-ridden region.
Eventville have confirmed that the Nigerian Air Force successfully neutralized numerous bandits in the Dansadau forest of Zamfara State. Nevertheless, Sheikh Ahmed Umar Kanoma implored the state administration to engage the leaders of these bandits in a peace dialogue, with the aim of establishing a lasting solution to the ongoing banditry crisis.
Governor Lawal, resolute in his position, articulated his skepticism, stating, “I have no reason reasonable enough to invite bandits that do not respect their words or value human lives for peace talks or any reconciliation.” He firmly held to his earlier proclamation, asserting, “How can you reconcile with somebody who goes out to kill and kidnap people just for the sake of money? How many times did the past administrations reconcile with the bandits? Did that work?”
Governor Lawal clarified that if the bandits genuinely seek reconciliation, they must emerge from their forest hideouts and relinquish their weapons. Additionally, he implored politicians to cease politicizing matters of security, which he portrayed as a malevolent force that would bring no benefit to anyone. He remarked, “I am urging the people of the state, particularly the politicians, to stop playing politics with security.”
