House of Representatives Initiates Probe into Alleged Fund Mismanagement and Irregularities at NHIA”
To ensure the effective implementation of the National Health Insurance Policy, the House of Representatives has launched an investigation into reported fund mismanagement and irregularities within the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
This decision was made following the presentation of a motion by Hon. Esosa Iyawe from Edo State during the Tuesday plenary session. The primary objective of this inquiry is to guarantee that the National Health Insurance Policy functions optimally, benefiting all Nigerians.
Established in 1999 as the National Health Insurance Scheme, the NHIA was created with the overarching goal of addressing gaps in affordable healthcare access and ensuring universal access to high-quality medical services for every Nigerian citizen.
