Outstanding Primary Healthcare Delivery Recognized: Zulum Honored by NPHCDA

In a ceremony held at the Government House in Maiduguri on Sunday evening, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State received a notable accolade for his exceptional contributions to the advancement of primary healthcare services within the region.

Dr. Faisal Shu’sub, the coordinator of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA), presented Governor Zulum with the award, citing his unwavering commitment to improving primary healthcare in Borno State.

Dr. Shu’sub praised Governor Zulum’s dedication to enhancing immunization programs and essential Primary Health Care (PHC) services throughout Borno State, expressing confidence that the state would serve as a benchmark for the transformation of primary healthcare services.

As a token of appreciation, the NPHCDA coordinator presented Governor Zulum with a compendium featuring images illustrating the Borno State Government’s tireless efforts in the eradication of polio in Nigeria.

This recognition follows Borno’s triumph earlier this year when it was crowned the best-performing state in primary healthcare service delivery and secured the top spot in the northeast during the best-performing zonal awards category in May.

In response to this esteemed recognition, Governor Zulum expressed gratitude to the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency and acknowledged the responsibility it places upon him to continue providing high-quality and affordable healthcare services to the people of Borno State.
