Remi Tinubu, addresses the Nation:”My Husband is not a Magician”

Abuja, Nigeria –

In a candid speech delivered during an interdenominational church service commemorating Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu dispelled notions of miraculous solutions to the nation’s challenges.

On Sunday, she underscored that her husband, President Bola Tinubu, is not a magician.

The service, themed “Christ in you, the hope of glory,” provided a platform for Mrs. Tinubu to address the nation’s aspirations and the expectations pinned on the Tinubu administration. She emphasized that her husband’s administration inherited long-standing issues but was committed to addressing them without casting blame on previous governments.

“All we inherited are things that had happened many years ago; we are not here to put blame on any administration but to fix what has been damaged,” asserted Mrs. Tinubu. She continued, “My husband is not a magician; he is going to work, and I believe and hope that we will have peace in this country; the best is yet to come to us.”

Furthermore, Mrs. Tinubu stressed the importance of good governance, highlighting that it can only be effective when people follow the example of Jesus Christ. She referenced the virtues embodied by Christ, including love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, and forgiveness.

“A Nigeria of abundance has begun, and to be part of the greatness that God has started in the nation, Nigerians must look beyond their current realities and embrace hope anew,” urged Mrs. Tinubu. She added, “There is no challenge, obstacle, or difficulty that we cannot overcome or surmount if we imbibe the nature of Christ.”

In conclusion, the First Lady emphasized the importance of maintaining hope and invoked the words of Jesus Christ, saying, “In times like these, all we do is to keep our hope alive, the lively hope which Jesus Christ has birthed in us.”
