PDP questions APC’s transparency over Tinubu’s Academic records

PDP Challenges APC Over President Tinubu’s Academic Records in U.S. Court

The Peoples Democratic Party  PDP has called on the All Progressives Congress APC to clarify its legal team’s actions in the United States aimed at concealing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s academic records from Chicago State University (CSU) from the public eye.

In a statement signed by the Party’s National publicity secretary Debo Ologunagba, asserts that the legal petition filed by APC’s lawyers in the US District Court of Illinois contradicts President Tinubu’s previous public claims of possessing impeccable academic records. Tinubu had publicly stated that he was a top graduate with multiple honors, a First Class Degree, and a reference point for others.

The PDP believes that the attempt to keep these academic details hidden is a disservice not only to President Tinubu but also to Nigeria as a whole. This move to conceal crucial information aligns with the APC’s history of engaging in deceptive practices and underhanded dealings with the Nigerian public, a trend that has intensified under the leadership of Abdullahi Ganduje.

The APC’s decision to appoint Dr. Ganduje as its National Chairman, despite the corruption and bribery allegations against him, further solidifies its image as a party entangled in corruption and willing to tolerate unethical behavior.

Furthermore, the APC’s silence regarding the suspicions of sabotage in the recent fire outbreak at the Supreme Court on September 25, 2023, raises questions. This incident is believed to have been an arsonist attack aimed at disrupting the handling of Presidential Election Appeals by the Supreme Court.

The PDP calls upon the APC to recognize its moral obligation to be transparent with the Nigerian people and the world. Failure to fulfill this duty is deemed unacceptable, especially given the numerous inquiries and investigations initiated by the APC since 2015 without resulting in any reports.

It is evident that the APC poses a significant threat to Nigeria’s democracy. The PDP urges all individuals of goodwill, both in Nigeria and beyond, to steadfastly defend democracy, transparency, and the rule of law in Nigeria, particularly during this critical period.
