Abia Governor Unveils Revamped Hospitals as Part of Commitment to Healthcare
In a significant move aimed at revitalizing the healthcare sector, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has officially reopened the doors of two long-neglected medical facilities: the Abia Specialist Hospital and the Amachara General Hospital in Umuahia.
This action signals a new era of commitment to public health by the current administration.
The Amachara General Hospital, which originally opened its doors in 1932, had suffered years of decay and neglect under previous administrations. However, Governor Otti has made it a priority to reverse this trend and restore these hospitals to their former glory for the benefit of the state’s residents.

He expressed his administration’s unwavering dedication to this cause by allocating substantial financial resources to renovate and refurbish these healthcare facilities.
