The Taraba State Government delegation made a formal request for support from the Czech Government to facilitate streamlined transactions for the acquisition of mini and compact tractors. This initiative aims to revolutionize large-scale agriculture production within the state.

Further discussions took place with representatives from the Czech Export Bank, led by Ing. Michal Neledy, Director of the Trade Finance Department, and the Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation, headed by Mr. Marek Doughy. These discussions explored a range of topics, including the procurement of agro-processing equipment, attracting investors for solid minerals development, sustainable alternative energy sources, and promoting balanced, sustainable environmental practices.

Prior to these high-level meetings, the Taraba State delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Embassy in the Czech Republic. They were warmly received by His Excellency Kevin Peter, the Nigerian Ambassador to the country, and his deputy, Mrs. Blessing C. Ibe-Torti.

This visit follows the landmark agreement signed on June 20, 2023, by Dr. Agbu Kefas, the State Governor of Taraba, with the Czech company Knight A.S.

The agreement entails the delivery of 750 new global multi-purpose mini tractors, 100 sets of Cabrio compact tractors, and related accessories, equipment, and spare parts, marking a significant step toward advancing Taraba State’s agricultural sector.
