NIMC Launches Self-Service App for Simplified NIN Enrollment

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has introduced a self-service mobile app to streamline National Identification Number (NIN) enrollment and digital ID acquisition in Nigeria.

The app was launched during Nigeria’s fifth Identity Day event in Abuja, attended by Interior Minister Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, acting DG/CEO of NIMC.

Chucks Onyepunka, NIMC’s IT Director, highlighted the app’s simplification of the NIN enrollment process. Minister Tunji-Ojo stressed the importance of harmonizing Nigeria’s databases to enhance security and development, revealing plans for a single-point database.

Acting DG Coker-Odusote emphasized the value of identity and NIMC’s vision to provide every citizen with a digital primary identity.

The app will soon be available for download on Google and iOS stores, offering enhanced accessibility and convenience for Nigerians. This innovation marks a significant step toward a more connected and secure Nigeria.
