Taraba State Government Launches Ambitious Digital Literacy Program
The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has  inaugurated a pioneering initiative aimed at equipping the youth and women of Taraba State with essential digital skills and lucrative business opportunities. 
The unveiling ceremony for this transformative program, aptly named “Transforming Taraba Youths into Digital Literate,” took place amidst great anticipation at the GYM Hall in Jalingo.
With a resolute objective to empower and benefit over 60,000 youths and women throughout the state, this ambitious program holds immense potential to create a profound impact on the lives and livelihoods of Taraba’s residents.
Representing Governor Kefas, the Commissioner for Digital Economy and Innovation, Mr. Gideon Nonso, emphasized the program’s core mission: to provide participants with a comprehensive array of digital competencies.
These encompass essential skills such as digital marketing, ICT literacy, web design, graphics, cybersecurity, virtual reality, digital catering, and agriculture.
The program is slated to run for a month and will be organized in batches, commencing on Monday, September 18th, 2023.
This approach will allow for a more personalized and effective learning experience.
Notably, the initiative places a strong emphasis on addressing the growing concerns surrounding cybersecurity. Participants will receive invaluable education on best practices for safeguarding digital assets and ethical considerations.
This proactive approach is aimed at contributing to a safer digital environment for all participants, and what’s even more remarkable – it’s entirely free.
