Kaduna Governor Launches Vigilance Training

Kaduna State Governor Takes Bold Step to Counter Kidnapping and Banditry Threats

In a significant move to enhance security measures in Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, the state’s governor, has officially launched a training program for 7,000 newly recruited members of the Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVS).

The initiative aims to bolster the state’s efforts in combatting the rising threats of kidnapping, armed robbery, and related crimes.

Governor Uba Sani expressed his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and peace of the state’s citizens. He emphasized the critical role the KADVS recruits would play in supporting existing security agencies.

“The Kaduna Vigilance Service is a complementary security outfit. It will assist the security agencies with actionable intelligence. With its knowledge of the local environment, bandits will have no hiding place,” the governor declared.

These recruits, hailing from all 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, are currently undergoing intensive training at the Police College Kaduna.

The governor’s vision is for them to become a formidable force in eradicating criminal elements from the state.

Governor Uba Sani highlighted the necessity for this recruitment due to the shortfall of personnel in conventional security agencies to combat the escalating security challenges.

He underscored the collaborative efforts involved in the recruitment and screening process, which included the participation of local government chairmen, traditional and religious leaders, grassroots stakeholders, and various security agencies.

The commencement of this extensive training program signifies a pivotal step toward fulfilling the administration’s promise to strengthen the Kaduna Vigilance Service, demonstrating a collective commitment to restoring safety and security in Kaduna State.
