STATE ASSET RECOVERY : GOVERNOR KEFAS MOVES TO RECLAIM STATE PROPERTIES.

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has taken a significant step towards recovering state assets across Nigeria by establishing a committee. The official press release was issued on July 17, bearing the signature of the Secretary to the State Government, Gebon Timothy Kataps.
Heading the committee is Retired Major-General Habila Vintenaba, bringing his experience and expertise to the task at hand. Assisting him as the secretary is Mr. Saleh Aji.
Additionally, the committee esteemed members such as Retired Colonel Nwunuke Ayo, Retired Navy Captain Atiku Bakari, Professor Mahmud Hamid Umar  and Mrs. Fatima Hassan.
In an inclusive approach, the committee will also include representatives from various bodies, such as the State House of Assembly, State Auditor-General, State Accountant General, National Assembly, State Ministry of Justice, State PDP, and the Office of the SGS.
The committee’s main responsibilities are as follows:
Identification of movable and immovable assets in Kaduna, including the liaison office, Lagos Liaison Office, Abuja Liaison Office, Central Business District Abuja, and other parts of the FCT.
Determination of Taraba State Government’s assets located elsewhere in Nigeria.
Assessment of the economic value of each asset.
Evaluation of the suitability of each asset for the state government’s use.
Provision of appropriate recommendations to the State Government.
In the pursuit of its objectives, the committee has been granted a four-week timeframe to submit its report to the government. This proactive move by the Taraba State Government aims to reclaim its assets and ensure their optimal utilization for the benefit of the state and its citizens.
