TINUBU DEPARTS NIGERIA FOR PARIS SUMMIT ON GLOBAL FINANCIAL PACT

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Tuesday depart Nigeria to join prominent international leaders in Paris, France, for a pact financial summit.

The purpose of this gathering is to evaluate and officially endorse a New Global Financial Pact which aims to prioritize assistance and investment for countries facing vulnerability due to the profound consequences of climate change, energy challenges, and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communication and Strategy Dele Alake disclosed this in a press statement

According to the statement, President Tinubu will actively engage in a two-days Summit on 22nd and 23rd June.

The leaders at the summit will explore avenues of restoring financial stability to nations grappling with immediate economic hardships, particularly those burdened with high levels of debt.

Additionally, it seeks to generate inventive financing solutions for countries vulnerable to the effects of climate change, promote growth in low-income nations, and stimulate investments in eco-friendly infrastructure to facilitate the transition to sustainable energy in emerging and developing economies.

President Tinubu, alongside an assemblage of world leaders, multilateral institutions, financial experts, and economists, will adopt a comprehensive approach to address the economic recovery from the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and the escalating poverty rates. The primary objective is to facilitate financial accessibility and investment opportunities that will foster inclusive growth.

The Summit, hosted by President Emmanuel Macron of France, will convene at Palais Brongniart.

President Tinubu will be accompanied by members of the Presidential Policy Advisory Council and senior government officials. He is expected to return to Abuja on Saturday, the statement adds.
